Ellister's Elixirs is a collection of Organic, plant-based Skincare and Holistic Wellness Products, handmade in small batches by owner Christi Albert.
Christi completed her Bachelor's of Science in Bio-Behavioral Health at the Pennsylvania State University. Initially starting her studies as a Pre-med student, before switching majors to Bio-Behavioral Health. This decision was made after taking an Epidemiology course where she learned that the leading causes of death in the modern world were mostly preventable diseases, whereas in the past it was largely communicable diseases. Realizing that she could have the greatest impact on public health by teaching people how to PREVENT disease instead of how to treat disease, she decided that medical school was not the only path to healing.
She spent the next five years traveling through Europe, Central & South America, Southeast Asia and India. During this time, she was introduced to a whole new realm of alternative healing and wellness. In Peru, she hiked the Inca Trails before participating in Ayahuasca plant medicine rituals in the Sacred Valley. In India, she lived at Ashrams, participated in a 10 day silent Vipassana Meditation, completed a Yoga Teacher Training Course and studied Ayurveda with a practitioner in Kerala. Between her travels she took a Doula Course and several nursing classes in Philadelphia. All of these experiences helped to cultivate a diverse understanding of healing. A realization that the future of Healing will be a combination of modalities from both the East and the West. From both the lab and the forest.
In 2018 she decided to open Ellister's Elixirs as a way to fuse her knowledge of Western Science and Eastern Healing. Creating products such as dried Herbal Teas, Essential Oil Roller Blends, Skin Salves, Scrubs, and Herbal Tinctures. Beyond creating products her main goal is to teach people how to live happier and healthier lives through lifestyle choices. She has a strong belief that what we feed ourselves, both physically and emotionally, is what determines our health. Sharing this knowledge through community based workshops and retreats, with the hopes of one day starting her own Farm Retreat Center here in Lancaster!
Graduation from Ayurveda training in India with Dr. Neel and all the teachers at AyurYoga Eco Ashram.
